The Scene
Want to go where everybody knows your name? At Geraci's, your name is "honey." As in, "Honey, seat yourself," or "Honey, you look a little thin. Lost weight?" From the outside, there's little to recommend the place. Inside, the decor runs to high pizzeria: Martini & Rossi posters, overhead fans, fake stone arches and extra paper napkins tucked into water glasses.

The Food
Most menu items are covered in a semi-sweet tomato marinara referred to locally as Geraci sauce. Baked pasta, golden-breaded veal, deep-dish pizza are the equal of anything offered at more upscale alternatives. The pasta is a perfect al dente. The sweet sausage plays off the delicacy of the veal. Sadly, not even the Geraci magic can make a pineapple pie palatable; but the pepperoni is an epiphany, imported especially for use as a thin-sliced topper. The pizzas (four-cut smalls or eight-cut jumbos, loaded with everything from mushrooms to buffalo chicken) are among the best in the hemisphere.
