What People Are Saying About Geraci's Restaurant

The Scene – Want to go where everybody knows your name? At Geraci's, your name is "honey." As in, "Honey, seat yourself," or "Honey, you look a little thin. Lost weight?" From the outside, there's little to recommend the place. Inside, the decor runs to high pizzeria: Martini & Rossi posters, overhead fans, fake stone arches and extra paper napkins tucked into water glasses. – – The Food – Most menu items are covered in a semi-sweet tomato marinara referred to locally as Geraci sauce. Baked pasta, golden-breaded veal, deep-dish pizza are the equal of anything…

- Tight Squeeze:
- Even with a long bench seat that runs the length of the room, elbow room is limited, say, to the Italian national soccer team plus guests. Parking is even more of a joust.
I've taken more pleasure out of gas station pizza

I had heard good things about this place. I read the reviews and they were mixed, some people were very unsatisfied. I figured it was perhaps jealous competition due to the restaurant being around 50+ years. I should have listened. I don't understand how this restaurant was featured on TV. I don't even understand how it won best pizza in Cleveland 2008. While Cleveland isn't the land mark of pizza, there certainly are way better pies around here. This was truly disappointing and expensive.
We went last weekend hoping to get one of Cleveland's supposed best pies. The sauce is nothing to write home about. The salad was more cheese than lettuce. 50+ years and the salad isn't even together? We ordered the sicilian style pizza which we were told had romano cheese on it. When it came out, it appeared to be the powdered form of TABLE parmesan cheese. That's right, the cheese they have sitting next to the red pepper flakes at every pizza parlor. There really is no excuse for a pizza so underwhelmingly average, when a place has been around for over five decades to perfect it. You may be saying to yourself, what a mean review. That I am being too harsh. Have your opinions. Obviously Geraci's was doing something right at some point or else they wouldn't have lasted 50 something odd years. Whatever good pie they had, has left the building. I don't believe the pizza they served us today was the same as it ever was. But hey, our server was nice.
not any where near the best

I don't know what all the hoopla is about this restaurant. A friend and I went there today and drove about 20 miles to get there, passing many good restaurants along the way. We ordered a pizza with extra sauce (which the waitress must have totally forgot or they are pretty skimpy to start with) pepperoni and double sausage. They sausage was very very bland so we wound up with a whole lot of blandness on our pizza. I also ordered a side of meatballs having heard about their "great" home made meat balls, they were average, that's about all.....just average, and the sauce with the meatballs was not any better then most jar sauces at the store. All in all a very disapointing experience and we will not be back. Save your time and money and go to your favorite pizza restaurand as that will be much better.
Best pizza in Cleveland

Only 2 negatives about this place they only accept cash and the decor is a out of date. This is the best pizza in Cleveland IMHO.
Worth a Drive!

Geraci's has the second best pizza that I've ever eaten. It's the best pizza I've had in Ohio! Everytime I'm in the area, I'll be eating at Geraci's. Prices are average, service was average, pizza was exceptional, space was very limited. I ordered the regular style crust, but next time I'm going with thin crust, the regular was too thick for me. Similar in crust thickness to pan pizza. Geraci's is worth a drive! The sauce is to die for, amazing!!! Bring cash, be patient, and you'll be rewarded!
Fantastic Service and Food

We have been wanting to go to Geraci's for a couple of years. Finally made it tonight. It was awesome! The food was great (try the hot pepper appetizer ... yikes!). The service was great (must have been 5-6 people worked our table, but not in an overwhelming way). We're going here every visit to Cleveland from now on
