Tips for Mower Clinic

Avoid at all costs. Do not go to this repair shop...you have been warned. Owner claims repairs will only take a week then makes every excuse in the book on why there are delays. Charges a "diagnostic" fee for everything, even if your equipment is still under warranty. Tired of waiting and want your equipment back? You'll get in pieces since he won't re-assemble.

One of the worst experiences with a service provider EVER. Do not go here and expect to see equipment any time soon. Owner is a liar and could care less about his customer. AVOID THIS BUSINESS...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Great Service Shop. Mower Clinic has always had parts for my Sears and Yardman mowers, and has done timely carb rebuilds on my leaf blowers for a reasonable price. When a weedwacker needed a rebuild he gave me the honest advise to save my money and buy a new one, when he could have taken my money for the rebuild.

Great service, very knowledgeable. I have had nothing but very good experiences when doing business with the Mower Clinic in Euclid.

This is a small engine garage and not a big box chain store so you have to be prepared to deal in a less formal type of atmosphere. You won't be able to eat off of the floors but that's not why you go there anyway.

Roger, the owner, really knows what he is talking about when it comes to small engines and equipment. He seems to always the stock the parts that everyone else in Cleveland would have to order and he doesn't charge crazy prices. So far Roger has helped me repair 4 snowblowers, 2 lawnmowers, and a rototiller. Each time I got what I needed the first try.

Also, I sometimes fix my own equipment - provided I have the tools. In the past, I have shopped for parts on the internet and found that, in most cases, the local Mower Clinic had the best prices. I have since learned to go to there first and not waste my time anywhere else. Roger always provides useful advice along with the parts. He is willing to share his wisdom and the tricks needed to fix it right the first time. These are the types of secrets that you would never find out in the owner's or repair manuals.

be prepared for a fight ...and a long wait!. I dropped my yard equipment (string trimmer) for repair at the Mower Clinic on 5/23/07. I was asked to pay a $20.00 deposit upfront, it was explained to me that this was for shop time evaluation and was applicable towards final costs. I was also told that I should receive an estimate in a day or two by phone.

On 5/29/07 I called to inquire where my item was in this process, as it was already past the expected call-back time. I was told differently, that it wouldn't be looked at until early in the week of 6/03/07. I proceeded to go pick the item up at the store, but was unsuccessful as it closed an hour earlier than usual.

On 5/30/2007 I returned to get the equipment back. It was brought to the counter. The woman at the counter attempted to refund my deposit, but was unable to because there was not $20.00 in the register. She called "Roy" to the counter for assistance.

Roy became very irate that I had asked for my deposit back. He claimed that the deposit was non-refundable and pointed to a dirty sign in the back of the shop. He was extremely argumentative and rude while accusing me of wasting his time for asking. He wouldn't "change [his] ....rules for his own family", he said. He also pointed to a different date that they printed on my receipt ?estimated completion date: 6/11/2007? quite contrary to what I was told ?otherwise I would have not left it.

I asked about customer service and the betbusbureau". He barked at me how these factors don't affect his business because no one else does services these types of equipment in the vicinity.

I have never encountered such apprehension and rudeness from a business. I was offended and shocked. ...never again!!!
