The Scene
When you think of Cricket West, you naturally think of wool sweaters, walking canes and expensive pipes. Now, though, the store's merchandise is sliding into different personalities: On one hand, it has a great Diesel jean collection and retro-style shoes. But in the back, there's a touch of both baggy jacket hip-hop nation and club scene (mesh shirts, tight pants). These styles don't merge well, like a bar filled with people from all walks of life staring uncomfortably at one another.
The Merchandise
Carefully selected labels stock the walls of this high-energy boutique. The entire Diesel jean line is represented, and casual Natha Studio shoes are available in burgundy and tan. There's a a strong Kenneth Cole sandal selection, and Mavi jeans come with a stone to sand them down.
For the Ladies
Cricket West also carries Miss Sixty, a fun, hippie-chic label for women. Choice items include gold jeans (solid or white-speckled), frayed vintage denim skirts and jean jackets.
