Horror show! Fake Indian food and you will walk out Hungry. It is located in a rundown neighbourhood, got stuck in the elevator in the parking garage has to call emergency. This place is located in a rundown office building which is hard to find. Food they serve is not even Indian food.I am from NYC have been to hundreds of Indian restaurants at all levels, this is the most worst Indian restuarant in the continental US.I walked out hungry.

Disappointing. The food pricing was not too off the mark, but food preparation failed miserably. I would definitely not recommend this place to any person who has eaten at other Indian restaurants and has some idea of what Indian cuisine tastes like.

It is very difficult to go wrong with tandoor preparations, yet the one that I chose came dry and tough. I can make better chicken tikka at home myself! Also I was amazed that the chutneys were bad....that is a staple of any Indian restaurant and home. Frankly, I have had better Indian food at roadside dhabas!!

Overpriced, bland food, friendly waiters, good ambience. I've been here several times and the waiters and ambience might be the only pros...It seems like they use the same gravy for a lot of the dishes and they are extremely bland. The fried items have a coarse taste. The dinner buffet is extremely overpriced.. they basically put too many dishes out and charge you $16-$17 for it. You would be better served going to another restaurant and ordering a la carte. Flavors of India (Formerly Kashmir palace) and Cafe Tandoor (no buffet here) are better...

Avoid Overrated Ripoff Under the Legacy of Previous Owner. Saffron Patch has been steadily going downhill since the previous owner/founder sold this restaurant a few years ago. But I did not realize how bad it has gotten until my recent visit. The Goan Fish Curry (previous owner's specialty) not only was prepared with a different sauce (tested like some combination of North Indian and North American sauces blended together with no coconut). The fish was stale and did not appeared to have been cooked (weird, chooeey feeling in mouth).

The service was poor.

Stay away.

Average Indian Resturant. This is one of the average resturants, with inconsistent quality and por imitation of original delicasies.

I was disappointed with their naans and thali, where the samosas were oily, rajma was burnt, rice was dry. Only good part was their sweets or desserts. I would not recommend for Indians, who have tasted the original Indian cuisine and expect authentic taste.

Big no no. Very bad experience, "woh kehte hain na hindi mein, naam bade aur darshan chote", made us eat burnt naan twice, not advisable, frozen indian food much better.

What happened to Saffron Patch???. For the last 7 years my husband and I have made Saffron Patch our restaurant of choice to celebrate minor and major milestones in our lives. It was always a highly pleasureable experience, and we always left there boosting about the food and the service.

The last three times we have been there, the experience have been very dissapointing.. The wait staff seems like they have been forced to be there against their will, and you can barely get their attention. The last time we were there we waited 45 minutes from the time we ordered till we got our food. No one bothered to come to our table to check on us, or offer us more drinks. I had to catch one of the buzzers, as she was flying by, to ask if she would kindly just bring us a pitcher of water so we could just help ourselves.

Repeatedly throughout our visit there, the dishwasher came out into the dining room with his blue rubber apron and absolutely filthy clothes. Now, both my husband and I have worked as Restaurant staff, so we know what goes on in a restarant. But when you are there as a guest you would rather not see what the food might look like after it has been disposed of. Is'nt that part of the reason you go out to eat? The breaking point for me (and what made me take the time to write this review) was when one of the chefs came out into the dining room, grabbed his apron and rubbed it in his sweatty face. Talk about a turn-off! Before we left we had to ask the waitress if the restaurant has changed owners, because going there now cant be compared to what it was a few years ago. She informed us it was still under the same ownership.

Obviously, the food was always the main attraction. And although it hasn't really changed, it doesn't taste as good after you see sweat dripping from the chef's forehead...

So, I'm asking; what happened???? Can somebody tell me?

Don't waste your time. Go to Cafe Tandoor instead!!!. Don't waste your time here. Go to Cafe Tandoor (on S. Taylor Rd) instead!!!!!

I have been to this restaurant a couple times because I'd heard it was good..... But I just am not impressed at all. The food is actually sort of bland, the decor is too over the top for my tastes, and the prices are just way too high. It also did not feel authentic to me, which is a must.. If you are going to say something is "indian" (or any other type of cuisine) then it better be!

Recommend the Lunch Buffet. Being of Indian origin, my wife and I are usually quite picky about Indian food but we both found the food very good and flavourful. The naans were soft and fluffy and the curries had obviously used fresh spices. We're definitely going back and recommend this restaurant.
