Poor Hygene, decent food, indifferent service..Never returning – This is one of the worst places hygene-wise (Udipi cafe is close). I found hair in my food once and another time got pieces of borken glass form light bulb. The place is visibly shabby, the owner picks his nose and handles utensils without washing his hands), indifferent service. If you order from the menu they dont have certain items listed there...why have them listed if you never offer them!! I gave them several tries because i know some places have bad days.. but they are consistently poor... If you dont care about hygene then go for it...
I would recommend Flavors of India if you want good clean indian food. they have a great lunch buffet and doesnt cost as much. And the owners/ waiters are very nice and customize the food to your liking..
Very Recommendable Food – I landed at this place on my long journey from NYC to Chicago just by chance. After deciding on my lunch hour timing, I checked for a surrounding Indian restaurant on way, and JJ suited me perfectly well. I wasn?t going with high hopes but was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It was originally run by someone actually from Jaipur but has been taken up by a Bangladeshi who does perfect justice to the food.
After staying in Chicago and coming from New Jersey, I can say the quality was comparable to best Indian food standards n US.
The quantities are very appropriate & well priced. We had a decent meal for four with tea included and billed for $34. (Entree for around 8, Biryani for 10 and tea for 2 each)
Ambience is great with walls painted with scenes depicting Rajasthan.
Could improvise probably on the smile and warmth, but rate that at 6/10 (In Indian restaurants, you expect that the least :-))
Second only to cafe tandoor (infamous nationally), in Cleveland. – Must wholeheartedly disagree with the reviews.
Second to the infamous "Cafe Tandoor" in downtown Cleveland (known nationally!) - comes Jaipur Junction.
No the environment is not th same. You have to eat with plastic knifes and forks. Doy ou eat chinese food with chopsticks? Eat with your hands.
The food is 2nd to Cafe tandoor in cleveland. The chicken makhani is absolutely superb. The prices are slightly expensive, but worth it over the drive to downtown to get tandoor.
Try it for yourself. Better in takeout since it's hole in teh wall (which seems to affect some people).
Worst place to Dine – This is the worst of all places I have dined at in my life. I went there with my wife as I love Indian food and the name sounded quite catchy.
To start with the place is in an obscure part of the town. The seating is cramped and they do not seem to have any air-conditioning what-so-ever.
The style is self-service but it is confusing and there was no help from the hosts who semed to be the most disinterested people in the world !! sometimes you are supposed to pick up your order from the counter and sometimes they bring it to your table leaving you wondering whether to stand at the counter or sit at your table.
The food is OK (and only OK, nothing fancy) but is highly overpriced and the portions are miniscule (even for me and my wife who usually have difficulty in finishing even 1 entree between the 2 of us!!)
When I decided to reorder 1 more Nan I had to stand at the counter for 10 minutes as both the hosts were inside the kitchen (one even went outside the back-door talking on his cellphone).
I all its an awful place to dine and leaves you with bitter feeling in the end. There are many other options available for Indian food which have better food, service and are even lower priced than this place.
Keep away from here unless you are taken there at gun-point.............
Great indian food!! – This is a real insider's tip for good indian food. I love to get my carry-out from there, and even at work they are catering from Jaipur Junction when it comes to indian food. However, it is not a place to sit and have a romantic date (unfortunately). But when it comes to the food, I have never been disappointed, and I order at least twice a month!
My favourite dish is the Butter Chicken, and the bread is awesome....
