Dr. Megan Culler and the Staff of West Park are TOP NOTCH! – Our treasured female feline friend recently caught a terrible virus which came close to taking her away from us. Her regular vet, as well as another nearby evening hours emergency room could not help her. They did not have the knowledge, nor the necessary equipment to provide the specific care that our feline friend required.
Thank goodness we found these wonderfully gifted people to save her life. Our friend Lucy needed to be placed in an oxygen cage for quite a while. We were allowed to visit her in the back room of the hospital anytime of the day or night during her stay. We observed that the entire staff was consistently tender and caring towards ALL of their ill "patients." As a matter of fact, the tenderness of the entire staff was always rather touching.
The "patients" were also always kept in a clean environment, which is very important, as our ex-vet's disregard for clean hands and clean surroundings is what caused our friend's illness to begin with!
In addition, the entire staff was always so patient, respectful and polite to us, as well as to all of their other human clients.
We have dealt with countless veterinarians throughout our life, but have never encountered one as knowledgeable as Dr. Megan Culler. She without a doubt made the appropriate decision to become a DVM. She is a rather gifted individual and we will always be grateful for the fact that we will have our gal Lucy with us for many more years to come!
This veterinarian practice is about as close to perfect as ANY practice could hope to ever be. ALL veterinarian offices and animal hospitals should emulate the compassion and knowledge of the entire staff.
Awful Business – Will never go there again. They still have given no answers for my sick cat. Overpriced and didn't say how much all the tests would be and would not arrange payments. My cat is sick and they will not release her records.
Ok, Still go there in a pinch – We took our dog here for routine care when we first got him from the APL (which doesn't treat dogs they adopt) and they missed two illnesses: tapeworm and ear mites. I thought they should have treated for worms, but they didn't. It was expensive for rountine care.
A few year later our dog got violently ill and we rushed him to West Park. They held him overnight and just like another review, they were VERY concerned whether we could pay the bill. And it was expensive. We had to call them TWICE to pick up our dog the next day.
Even though they ran every test and checked his stools, they missed a parasite that our other vet found two days later. Yes, I took him to our walk-in clinic vet two days later because our dog was still sick. West Park did stop the profuse throwing up.
So, moral of the story, I only use West Park Animal if it's an extreme emergency or I can't wait at the walk-in clinic. For the money they charge, you expect great, complete service. That's not what I get.
Emergency Surgery – On a Sunday afternoon our big Lab mix , KC, found a golf ball in our back yard. Being KC he decided to pick it up and roll it around in his mouth and before you know it, he swallowed itright in front of our eyes! My husband and I both knew there was no way he was going to pass this so I immediately called West Park Emergency Vet. They told me what to do to induce vomitting to see if he could bring it up.....no luck . We both knew the longer we waited the further down his digestive tract the ball would move. We took him into West Park where they tried to get him to bring it up again with no luck. They suggested emergency surgery to remove the ball before it moved into his intestine. We discussed the cost and knew it would be high but we knew we had to do what we could for KC. While he was there he received the best of care from a very caring and compassionate staff. They called us regularly to keep us up on what what happening with KC and they showed such concern that I would refer anyone to them.
KC is now back at home with us and healing quite nicely thanks to West Park Animal Hospital! Thank you to all the staff and Drs.
Always kind – I have used the Westpark Animal Hospital several times. Twice when my purebred cat became ill, once requiring surgery and just recently when my father's chocolate lab became ill. At all times, the staff was very kind, explained the issues and let us make an informed decision. My cat survived her illness and injury. My father's dog was too ill and we had to put him asleep. The vet was absolutely WONDERFUL. Caring and compassionate. Despite being busy they let us stay with Jack until we were ready to say goodbye. I would recommend this hospital.
Best care there is – I work for Westpark Animal Hospital for over 6 years now and some of you people have alot of nerve talking about how horrible this vet is. The reason your animals are deceased or sick is probably your own fault. I have been using this vet for years before I even working here. For anyone to say we abuse animals is ridiculous, the only reason we take the animal out of room to do vaccines and stuff is because animals usually react better away from their owners, if you are worried about watching procedures we do here , just ask doctor and it will be done in front of you in room. Also there are no abusive doctors here, some people are insane. I know the case with the bulldog that died, it was not because of our staff. It was because the pup was bought from a pet store and had been sick the whole time the pet store owned it, the new owners should hve gotten the history from the pet store, I , myself don't reccomend buying from pet stores. ANyhow, most of the doctors here are amazingly commpassionate and we have received many letters of reccomendation, opinions are like aholes everyone has one... to each his own, but as far as I am concerned this hospital is and has always been (will always be) the best...
Best Doctors/Staff & Animal Hospital On Earth! – After reading some of these reviews, I am appalled! I have a 40 year history with West Park Animal Hospital. Yes, way back to the Dr. Meister days! All of my experiences have been nothing but exceptional! Recently our cat had a very large mass in his abdomen, which Dr. Adam found during a simple exam. He took x-rays to confirm his findings. He then operated on the cat the next mornig, never once giving us any false hope. Gee, the cat is doing fine today, Dr. Adam is our hero! He saved our cat from an almost certain death. Kudos to all of the staff and doctors there. We have always been treated with the utmost respect. When something goes wrong with YOUR pet, it is not the doctors fault, as with any medical treatment, or lack there of. Sorry if some of you people blame the doctors and staff for your own issues. Pets are an enormous financial, emotional and physical responsibility.
Very nice clinic – I have been takeing my dog Mr. Wigglesworth to West Park for 6 years now and I have always received excellent care. The doctors are all friendly and always show concern for my pet. Shame on anyone blaming them for their own carelessness or unwillingness to spend money to fix their pet when they get sick! If you cannot afford to take care of your pet do not get one, end of story. This hospital is new and clean. Other hospitals I used to go to smelled like animal urine. The cost is slightly higher but it is well worth it for the quality of care my beloved little man recieves. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
no concern for puppy – We purchased a 4 month Old Bulldog puppy. He had been in and out of the hospital since he was born we came to find that out after we bought him for 1800 But he survived 3 months of pneumonia, staff infection and 2 surgery's for cherry eye. But the terrible night came a few days before Thanksgiving. Our little puppy began to bring up his food took him to see Dr. ADAM the next morning who ran an x-ray on him and said he had no blockage and we should try this special food and medication. 197.00 later. we were on our way home and Gunner was not feeling any better. He refused to eat the special food or any food for that matter and continued to bring up his food called DR ADAM back the next day, he really had no concern for the dogs health. He said most dogs do turn their noises up to the food. then why give it to them. but we should try a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice. Little man ate just a few mouth fulls but it did not stay down. He continued to bring up his food...... Once again we called the vet back, still with no concern for our puppies live, he told us as long as he was drinking he should be ok. He never suggested we bring him back, never told us, this could be life threatening. Never suggested a ultra-sound. Well Sunday night our little man went into a massive seizure we rushed him into emergency and the wonderful female Doctor took Gunner and immediately said he needed a repeat x-ray and found a massive blockage in his small intestines. She rushed him into surgery but it was too late for our little puppy, his small intestines had ruptured right by the pancreas and there was really not much we could do.
westpark animal hospital - avoid any time! – This is a horrible place. The vets that I have had to deal with have been terrible. The one male vet is abusive to animals. Dont let them take your animals from you - you dont know the abuse that goes on when you cant see your animal!
My friend kept her german shepherd here and they wash them cause they let the dogs go all over themselves. Then they washed her ( the shepherd) and she must have either fallen or been abused because her lip was split and when my friend got the dog in the car her mouth was bleeding like a stuck pig ... they tried to hide the fact that they HURT THE DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
please be careful if you really love your dog or cat .. because they really dont care if your animal dies.
They will blame it on a " reaction to anethetic " when it was their lack of monitoring or the animal layed on the surgery table for hours when the vet wasnt ready to do surgery!
