Operational since July 1925, Cleveland Hopkins is in the midst of a major expansion that may last until 2014. Fortunately for travelers, renovation to this Continental Airlines hub has been quick and beneficial so far, resulting in the 1999 opening of the airport's fourth concourse, as well as new concession outlets in the summer of 2001. Likewise, the single-terminal facility has made technological upgrades for conscientious business travelers and added Mexico and England to a domestic and international roster serviced by more than a dozen airlines. A second runway and additional shops and restaurants are part of the continuing plan.
Diversions
Literary types can feed the mind at Simply Books and feed the body (especially the beer gut) at Great Lakes Brewing Company. If leaving from a gate in concourse B, check out the spectator deck for an incomparable view of the airfield.
