fabulous food in an ordinary setting. I have been dining here for over a decade and have never had a bad meal! The owner is from Shanghai, so the food is totally unique and different from whatever you may have had. There are 2 seperate menus, one is the regular American-Chinese food that you see all over and the other is the "picture book" menu, where the food is prepared "Chinese style". Try the latter, for great tastes, huge portions and a tiny bill. I am an Asian food fanatic and I absolutely recommend Hunan East to all who are adventurous eaters. Note: The FOOD is the thing here, as the decor is generic and service is great but very quick (don't expect to linger!).

Great Food. Hunan East has some of the best Chinese food I have had anywhere. The service is very efficient. The restaurant is very good with special requests. They will make you anything you want. The seafood is wonderful. Many dishes are below 9 dollars. The portions are humongous. Some notable dishes are: Triple Delight, Pan-fried Noodles, and the Seafood Soup hot pot.

Authentic Chinese Service. Serving both American style chinese fast food and traditional chinese food, Hunan East is a friendly, fast, and inexpensive way to spend a good time. Portions are very large, so be prepared to share. Don't be afraid to try something new, try a chinese dish, or just point to someone else's plate when ordering.
