Unlike those nametag wearers at the local mall record shop, My Generation has got plenty of diehard audiophiles on staff that can bring you up to speed on the latest hot tracks or perhaps a classic slab of wax you were too young to drop a needle on the first time around.
Stock Shock
Music devotees that wander about the store for the first time quickly realize that each genre section offers a peach crate of tempting surprises. The Stan Getz slot is ten discs deep, the Minutemen five. Even lesser-known reggae stars get love.
Beware
There is that whole thing about going to Westlake. My Generation exists singularly in this far-west flatline as a strip-mall miracle. After getting amped about finding that Chris Whitley rarity, don't expect to roll out and find a piercing parlor (or even a coffee shop that isn't dominated by tennis leagues.)
