Relaxation MassageRelaxation massage is the traditional form of massage used in western culture. It utilizes swedish massage techniques to promote relaxation, healthy circulation, better sleep patterns, pain relief & a sense well-being. The massage consists of the therapist applying gentle to medium pressure of the hands to the body, gently manipulating the tissue to promote relaxation. It is not a deep tissue massage. It is not designed for working the deeper muscles of the body, but just a gentle kneading & rubbing of the outer layers of the body tissue. It will cover a wide range of areas on the body including the back, legs, arms & neck.During a session, the patient will remove most of their clothing & lie on a massage table w/ a light sheet and/or blanket draped over the body. Usually a relaxation massage can be modified & tailored to your specific desires. Sometimes there is the option of adding some aromatherapy treatment to heighten the holistic experience of the massage. The massage takes place in a quiet, comforting environment, w/ your choice of any music or candlelight in the background. Many live their stressful lives day to day without taking any time off just for them. Isn't’t it about time you pampered yourself w/ a relaxation massage?

ReflexologyReflexology is a form of alternative healing based on a set of chinese energy (chi) pathways called meridians. These meridians extend from the head thru the hands & feet. Manipulation of specific pressure points on the hands & feet are thought to influence the flow of this energy. For example, gentle manipulation of the tip of the toes corresponds to a point in the head & brain. Or, a point in the palm of the hand corresponds to the stomach. Thus by applying small purposeful movements & pressure to the hands & feet, the entire body can be effected. A session of reflexology will begin w/ a short client history. The client is then shown to the room & invited to recline in a soft comfortable zero gravity chair. Lights are low & soft soothing music plays in the background. The reflexologist will enter the room & place pillows under the ankles so that the feet are above the heart. A pillow & blanket are supplied for the comfort of the client. The reflexologist usually begins w/ the hands, but that is subject to change depending on the needs of the client. When the hands are thoroughly treated, the therapist will begin on the feet. The client is encouraged to provide feedback if anything done is painful or uncomfortable. The pressure used during a reflexology session varies according to need but is generally medium to gentle.
