Great Patio

by spavey at Citysearch

I've been coming here for several years and each time is a pleasure. The sunny patio has a great view, inside is comfortable. The brunch is decent, as well as a few of the sandwiches I've tried. Guinness Guinness Guinness. Never been disappointed by service, food or atmosphere. Never had to park on the street.

  • Pros: Patio, friendly service
  • Cons: none

Great place to bring out of towners

by pennyjuke at Citysearch

I am a huge fan of this place! The atmosphere is amazing. Sitting inside on a cold winter night sipping some Irish Coffee(great, not that coffee with bailey but a whiskey blend) or Guiness after a delicious meal ( I like the salmon) is all you can ask for on a cold Cleveland night. Service is great and very friendly. The best part is hanging out on the patio which over looks the lake and a great view of downtown. I like to bring out of towners there to check out the view which on a nice summer day you can watch the boats and see the most incredible sunsets. They also have free music a few nights a week but and I have to disagree with some of the other posts about it being too much of a "bar". The music doesn't start until about 9 or 10 so if you want a quite dinner before it's not too bad. Besides when I bring in visitor(who are usually from bigger cities and think the Midwest is boring) it's nice to show them that Cleveland has a lot of cool, fun places to go. P.S. It helps having a great place to go with all the residential development in Ohio City

  • Pros: free music, great food drinks, good service

Regular

by jbean84 at Citysearch

I have been to The Harp on many occasions and it is truly hot or not. What is constant is the friendly staff and inviting atmosphere. I love being inside during the winter, the wood work and decor are very cozy and in the summer the patio is amazing-great views of the lake and city skyline! It is a great location for the 4th of July! If you?ve been and weren?t totally satisfied with the experience, I recommend going during the week to give it another chance.

  • Pros: Great Ambience
  • Cons: Slow service

Not a Restaurant...More a like a Bar

by mayan5 at Citysearch

I think that they should re-classify this place...this is more a bar than a restaurant.

The service is slow. Food is horrible!...really loud place...thus a bar ambience.

I do not recommend this place as a restaurant.

Bring earplugs and a book to read

by obanmcgloin at Citysearch

Loved the look of the place, but hard to have a conversation. Between the music and loud atmosphere, not what I thought a restaurant would be like. Definitely more of a bar atmosphere. Waited 25 minutes for a fish and chips (11.95) which tasted like old grease. I was going to try a dessert, but didn't have time.Service was friendly, but so slow! Great place to have a drink, but would not recommend the food.

  • Pros: view, beer
  • Cons: loud, expensive, slow

A full-sized shamrock shelter with a gorgeous view of the Shoreway.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
Designed by Dublin-based architect Frank Ennis, this spacious structure was assembled by Irish craftsmen and overlooks the former site of the Angle, a turn-of-the-century Irish settlement. The Harp keeps traditions alive in this now-integrated neighborhood; the owners have gone to impressive lengths to inject an authentic atmosphere into what feels like an Irish country house. There's a stone fireplace for winter and a small patio for summer.

The Food
The menu includes standard Irish fare such as corned beef, cabbage, black-and-white pudding and stew; the homemade soda bread goes well with the ample collection of Irish, English and Scottish beers. Newer additions include goat-cheese salads, roasted fish, grilled lamb shanks and berry-laden desserts. Wednesday through Saturday nights, enjoy live Irish music. The owners have even been known to schedule a County Cork matchmaker to fly across the pond and work a little of his magic.

Rely on it as a bar...

by clevelandgrrl at Citysearch

...maybe not so much a restaurant. And if you aren't down with Irish food, don't crab when you find you don't like it. Fish and chips are grrrreat and the hot whiskey is DIVINE in the winter. Totally fun in summer when you can get a seat on the patio, and they have great Irish music (free) twice a week at least. Service CAN be slow and food is pricey for what it is. Have a drink and enjoy the music.

  • Pros: Ambience, Music, Great drinks
  • Cons: Inconsistent food, Often packed, Slow service

The ambience is great, the place looks real nice but the food could use a little help. The service was good, beer selection fair, and food average to below average.
