Shaker Square is quickly becoming our favorite destination for special occasions as well as casual nights out. We dined at fire this past Sunday for Easter brunch and had an absolutely fabulous meal. I ordered the strada, a special for the day, and could not have been happier. It was cooked to perfection, not too crispy, not too mushy-- absolutely just right. I also indulged with a mimosa and unlike other more stingy restaurants, the drink wasn't just fizzy OJ, but rather a perfect blend of OJ and champagne. We were so pleased with our meal that we stopped by this evening (Fri.) for a bite to eat after a movie (also conveniently situated on the Square). The restaurant was still quite busy at 9:30 PM, and we enjoyed another fabulous meal. The food was excellent and the service was attentive, but not overbearing. Even though we were dining a bit later in the evening, both the waitstaff and the kitchen paid just as much attention to getting the details right as if we had been dining at 7:30. We can't wait for the weather to get warm as we'll be spending many nights this summer enjoying terrific meals on the patio at fire.

Pros: Location, food, service

We were at Fire tonight for dinner after not going back for months after a bad breakfast experience, Brunch rather......I had the "gourmet" hamburger and after swallowing about 3 different bites that I thought just had some grissell in it I did not swallow and managed to pull out a piece of bone that was in the patty!!! God knows what all else I had already swallowed....I put it on my bread plate and showed the waiter and he took it to the kitchen to show the chef.....chef came out and appologized and said that they had been grinding their own meat but had switched to having it ground for them.....he had called the company to inform them about the bone I found....I was not charged for the hamburger....but will not ever go back....what else had been put through the grinder with the meat!!!!!!

Pros: can sit outside

Cons: $5 valet parking and no other choice, poor service, bad food, bad neighborhood

We've been in Cleveland for only one year, but have made it a point to try all of the hot spots. This is one that we've been back to time after time for everything from a romantic dinner for two, to entertaining a party of eight out-of-town clients. The food is always superb. The service is always attentive, but not pretentious. The atmosphere is perfect inside, or better yet, outside on a nice evening.

Pros: Food, Ambiance, Service

Cons: N/A

We got there early and were able to get a cute table outside on Shaker Square. The caesar salad was unique and creative. The owner recommended that I get the shirmp appetizer and add it to the salad. This made for the perfect summer dinner! Highly recommended.

I recently went to Fire and had a great meal. I was lucky enough to talk to the chef and get a personal recommendation. From apetizers to dessert, the food was great. Our hostess was great and we were seated right on time (with a reservation). Our waiter was always there when we needed him. We loved the atmosphere so much, we went back the next night for drinks at the bar. Well done!

Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service

Cons: N/A

FIRE is a must for anyone seeking a lively urban atmosphere and delicious food. With some of the best people watching in town, the outside seating makes for the perfect dinner on a spring/summer night. The 30-layer cake is a must bc I haven't had a dessert this good in a long time!

Pros: Desserts, Location, Lively atmosphere

Cons: Wait
