Moving to a new city is never easy, especially finding a new salon. I'm a tough customer, and usually never 100% satisfied with a cut or color, and never both! While calling around the area gathering prices, products, etc. Kimberly, the owner and main stylist, was very informative and professional. She seemed to really know her stuff, and I could relate to her, so I jumped out on a limb and booked an appointment. She catered to my work schedule, and though my appointment was at 6:45, we didn't get started until nearly 8. This was my only downside, but I had nothing to do, so she helped me settle in by offering a HUGE variety of ready material and a tasty Chinese rice beer to relax. Going in I had a few pictures, one for cut, one for color, one for highlight placement...she reviewed and studied them all, let me choose the exact colors from the swatches and went to work. Needless to say, I have never been happier in my entire existence with the color of my hair. She did a perfect job, even though we had challenges because my hair was previously colored. When it came to cutting, she did her thing, then asked me to play with it, asses it and let her know what I thought. I wanted more off, so she listened and did exactly as I asked. Needless to say, I got many many many compliments on both the cut and color in the days following. The atmosphere is vintage and unique, but relaxing. There is not a high profile, hustle bustle, gossipy flair, which I loved. Low key definitely works for me! This was a great experience for me, and you can bet your money I will be a returning customer as long as I have hair on my head.
Pros: Skilled professional, very attentive, low key atmosphere, quality job!
Cons: A little behind schedule, but that's okay!

I've been hopping from salon to salon my whole life, and Lipstick and Razorblades is the best one I've been to. I'm definitely sticking with this place! The first time I went there, the girl who did my hair, Alyson, knew exactly what I wanted even though it was hard to put into words. I was thrilled with the looks on my friends' faces when they saw my hair the next day. The people who work there are great, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the salon is very funky--I love it!
Pros: Friendly, Experienced Stylists, Nice atmosphere
