Great for the price
by iupnut325
We took a weekend trip to Cleveland from Pittsburgh last summer and booked our room on priceline. For $65 dollars we got an excellent room here. I would suggest booking online thru priceline instead of paying the extremely expensive prices per room. The staff was very friendly and knew a lot about the areas. Coming from Pittsburgh, I was used to the malls staying open til atleast 9:00pm, I went to buy a pair of jeans at the mall attached to the hotel but it was closed by 8:00 which was extremely disappointing.
- Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable staff
- Cons: Mall closes really early.
Great setting for a wedding
by bdee1977
We attended my friend's wedding here & it was fabulous. The rooms had an old charm to them, but all the modern updates that make it a lush setting. The food at the reception was out of this world, worth the price.
- Pros: the setting & downtown location
- Cons: price (though worth it)
Guests feel anything but feudal at this opulent downtown hotel with plush amenities and fine dining.

The Scene
Located on Public Square, the original center of town, this is the city's grande dame hotel. Return visitors might remember it as Stouffer's Inn on the Square or the Tower City Centre Plaza Hotel. Though down to a three-word name, the hotel is bigger than ever. It hosts banquets, meetings and conventions but still projects a genteel aura with its subdued tones of rose, cream and gold. The lobby is immense and formal--chandeliers, drapes, arches, columns, gilding--yet hospitable, with abundant seating grouped for easy conversation.
The Details
The 491 rooms are light, airy and traditionally furnished, but they lack the presence of the hotel's best surprise: Sans Souci restaurant, with its eclectic Mediterranean menu and gracious service, is the true gem of the hotel.
Beautiful Hotel
by pparsonscmh
The rooms in this hotel were recently refurbished. Very tasteful and elegent. The only place I stay when I am in Cleveland. Becuse of the age of the structure you will find the elevators to be slow and some bathrooms are small. Overall the best hotel in downtown Cleveland.
- Pros: Interior Design, Central Location
- Cons: Slow Elevators
Comfy, but old tiny bathrooms
by linasz
The hotel offers central location, however it does not have nice views. Moreover, windows are not modern and sound insulation is average. Bathrooms are very old. The hotel is attached to a Tower City mall with a train stop for the direct line to the airport, many fast food outlets, upscale shops and multi-screen cinema.
The best feature of the hotel is arguably its lobby - a wonderful space with many sofas and armchairs, huge windows, etc. Rooms are spacious.
- Pros: attached to mall, gorgeous lobby/bar, spacious room
- Cons: old old bathrooms, gloomy breakfast cafe, average clean
Elegance with a layer of dirt
by themouschman
Needs bigger elevators, quicker parking service, and rooms need cleaned more thoroughly. If this is a historic building, the city needs to get involved in renovating it. Too many good qualitys that fall wayside to their bad health codes.
- Pros: good location, friendly people
- Cons: bad garage service, needs exterminated
