WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE!
by dipc1974
My wife and I visited Cleveland for the first time last weekend and walked in to D'Vine for dinner. It was 8:00 on a Saturday night and we sat out on the patio. Dawn came over to us and was very personable and friendly. We were very impressed with the wine and beer selection and LOVED the flights menu! My wife got the "Award-Winning Whites" flight and I started with a Paulaner Hefeweizen. We then ordered the Calamari, the Trio of Dips and the Bruschetta. All three plates were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! No salt or pepper needed on the table at all! We then talked briefly with another server, Scott, and realized that everyone at D'Vine worked together to make sure that the guests came FIRST. My wife has, and I do, work in the restaurant business and we were both VERY pleased with this dining experience. We asked to speak to the manager, Tracy, so we could thank her and her staff for everything. I'm not sure when I'll be returning to Cleveland, but I DO know where I will eat as soon as I get there!
- Pros: Perfect place for a relaxed, romantic dinner!
- Cons: Absolutely none!
Terrific Ladies Night!
by Natstarr
Great specials for ladies every Thursday from 4:00 till 8:00. A great selection of half price wines, beers and cocktails as well as half price menu items. The baked brie is sinful! I always appreciate the service staff and their accomodating nature. If you have not been to D'Vine it is a must visit for any of their happy hour specials or for a great night out with the girls!
- Pros: Patio
- Cons: None
A best for Cleveland but clearly not the best.

We have been living in Cleveland for a few months after spending a lot of time in Europe and tried D'Vine for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised by the extensive wine menu. The flights we ordered were very well thought out. I had a flight of Cabs and my guest had a flight of sparkling whites. Each of the flights gave a wide range of what each wine type had to offer. The flight of cabs had a mixture of berry, prune, tannic, etc. My guest is not a fan of reds and even she marveled at the fact that her unititiated nose could discern the difference. On the down side, two of the "sparkling wines" were brought to the table flat. The waiter quickly corrected it explaining that the sparklings sometimes are flat. (I did wonder, since he returned so quickly, if the fizz was regenerated by a bit of sugar or if they actually opened two new bottles).
We also had a pizza (hand formed and backed to perfection) and "tapas." (I am including quotes because these dishes bear little resemblance to the tapas of Spain). The "tapas" were large and filling. Not to be missed is the baked macaroni with lobster.
For desert we ordered the choclate pizza which was fun and a moscato with a bit of the smell of a musty cork. I was very disappointed in the moscato.
Given the effort the owners have made this establishment have a European flair I was a bit disappointed with the service. The waiter was chatty and spent way too much time at our table. He brought the "sparkling wines" without sparkle. And in addition, and I may be spoiled by European service, the check was brought to our table before we asked for it and even worse, before we were finished with our food and drinks.
- Pros: extensive wine list, a sommelier who seems to know wine
- Cons: rushed service, flat sparkling wine
Great place to be and be seen!

One of my favorite places to go. Great food, great service, and great drinks. A staple in downtown Cleveland.
- Pros: love the wine list
D'Vine is more than Best Wine List
by TeriM51
With 60 plus wines by the glass and 16 flights of wine available I see how D'Vine won Best Wine List in Cleveland Magazine. Unlike the other wine bars in the area they offer an amazing cocktail list, they make this martini called a Sparkling Strawberry that is simple and delicious. I had a cucumber infused martini this past weekend that is perfect for sipping on their patio. Offering food until 1:00AM means they have the best late night menu Downtown. The service staff does a nice job and the owners are not above cleaning tables and sweeping the floor so I highly recommend visiting D'Vine Wine Bar!
- Pros: No snobs
- Cons: Not open for lunch
Service needs HELP.
by jandy65
I've been to D'Vine twice in the last two weeks. I like the menu and the atmostphere but the service leaves much to be desired. On my first visit, my friend and I made it clear that we were there only for drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine and were enjoying ourselves until we were repeatedly interrupted by various wait staff (3 different servers) inquiring if we would like to order food. We would have really liked to stay for a second bottle but we felt very rushed and it was obvious they were eyeing our every move which didn't make for a very relaxed or enjoyable time. My second visit was nearly the opposite. I was ignored by both the bartender and the waiter upon entering the restaurant. It was early in the evening so the place was barely occupied, but the waiter seemed to be consumed by lighting the candles on the tables. When I asked for a table he said I could sit wherever I wanted. I expressed that I was in a hurry and he sauntered over to the computer to slowly enter my order before placing my bill on the table without uttering a word to me or delivering my drinks. Pretty rude. I tipped this person on principal alone because he certainly didn't deserve a dime. I was never once greeted by an employee nor thanked nor even acknowledged aside from my own asking for a table and a beverage. My waiter didn't even manage to thank me when returning my credit card. Not very classy.
A Good Drink
by gladdman
I ordered a Ketel One & soda and for the first time a long while I had a real drink. Charlie, the bartender that evening, let me know that their standard pour is 2 ounces. Much better than the ounce to once and a quarter standard pour used at the neighboring places. I recommend visiting D'vine.
- Pros: Great Drinks
- Cons: A few lite beer drinking in a wine bar guys.
Thanks for a difference

A great place for a difference located in the Warehouse District of Cleveland. I spend a few days a month in Cleveland on business and I often patronize D'Vine Wine Bar. The menu is a nice Tapas inspired menu with some can?t miss items be sure to try the Baked Brie. Charlie and Deborah always take great care of me with genuinely personal service. The wine list is ever improving with variety.
- Pros: Non Smoking
- Cons: not open for lunch
Amazing Tapas!
by jaimebabe22
This bar is one of my favorites in the warehouse district! The wine list is very extensive and it changes every season. This bar features their appetizers or tapas which are little plates that people can share. My friends and I love the brushetta with pesto and the pizzas are good too. I highly recommend D'vine after work with friends on Wednsdays for half off wine flights.
- Pros: The food, drinks and the atmosphere
- Cons: It gets very crouded on Saturday nights and it is nearly impossible to find a seat.
Heavenly choices for the palate in the form of a wide selection of vintages.

In Short
This is a peaceful alternative to playing the Warehouse District game. The drink prices aren't any more expensive than at the nearby clubs, and in the summertime, there are few better places to chill than on the patio. The European vibe runs thick inside this turn-of-the-century building, but you can just as easily visit the rolling hills of Napa Valley or the Australian Outback, thanks to a wine list that covers the globe. Wines are served by the bottle, along with 80 imported. There also are domestic beers and seasonal tapas.
