Quality Basketball and good Fans

by dkolby

as far as the arena goes, it is honestly an average NBA arena. Holding over 20,000 fans The Q also host's concerts and various other events. The atmosphere is up-tempo at cavs games. And now that the team is heading toward a championship , it makes it all the better. Around the corner from the "Q" is Fat Fish Blue, a great place to grab a beer and food before the game. Live Jazz bands play here as well. NBA tickets are not cheap, so prepare to spend some loot when going to a Cavs game. Overall, it is a good place to go to get out of the sometimes harsh Cleveland winters. GO CAVS

  • Pros: Very well coordinated entertainment between quarters and game play
  • Cons: High prices, but that could be anywhere in NBA cities

Excellent seating configuration and awesome acoustics make for a prime spectator experience.

The Venue
Opened in 1994 as part of the Gateway project (with Billy Joel as the grand-opening act), The Quicken Loans Arena now serves as the home of the NBA's Cavaliers, the IHL's Lumberjacks and the WNBA's Rockers, as well as big-name concerts and events. Riding shotgun with its famous flatmate, Jacobs Field (marking the first time in the U.S. that two sports facilities were constructed simultaneously on the same site), the arena has gained its own local mystique.

The Experience
To create an intimate environment, 60 percent of the arena's seats are located in the lower bowl. With the exception of some tricky lower-box seats, the seating is outstanding. Mid lower-level seating is best. Quicken Loans is also designed with concert-quality acoustics. Inside notables include Gordon's Sports Bar, a full-service restaurant on the main concourse, and Cavstown, a 2,500-square-foot team shop offering a wide variety of sports merchandise.

Gund Arena

by utah

I saw a Pearl Jam concert at Gund Arena in April of 2003. it was a decent place for a concert. the sound and sightlines were good. parking is kind of tough in downtown Cleveland. Winking Lizard is right down the street. now that LeBron is on the Cavs Gund Arena will be full every night

Gund stinks

by mansontcno

I think gund arena is the worst place to see a concert everytime I have went to a show there the sound systems is crap, it always dies in the middle of a performance. for the type of the money the bring in the should be able to come up with a better sound system

Giant Cavern = Bad Show

by rshields41

The only thing this venue has going for it lots of seating. Unless you're in the first few rows, however, you might as well stay home and watch a videotaped concert... it will be better! Arenas are meant for sports, not music! There is not intimacy or ambiance, and the only shows that can hope to play well here are high energy, big name shows... and even those would be better in a smaller place. And any venue that sells food cannot be taken seriously by a real concert goer.

  • Pros: Ample Seating, Easy Access, Good Parking
  • Cons: No Character, Cavernous, Expensive
