Surprising Inventory

For such a small out of the way store their inventory is HUGE! I thought I'd have to go to New York of Chicago to get the jacket I was looking for but they had it AND in my size. The staff were not in my face and gave me plenty of time to try on several. I walked in with no intention of buying, I walked out with a extremely well made leather jacket that I will have for years if not decades. Nice to know we do not live in a retail wasteland.

The Scene

Tucked into a smallish storefront in Coventry Village, Sunshine Too is one of the older residents of the neighborhood: it's been around for 35 years and offers more leather than you'll find outside a European capital. The shop is packed with leather pants, jackets, skirts and accessories in every shade of the rainbow; the styles and shades paint every corner of the store and make for an almost psychedelic experience. Just see what happens when you can match up a sea foam bomber jacket with a pair of navy leather pants.

But That's Not All

If you don't find what you're looking for on the rack, the store does custom work, as well, both in hard-to-find sizes and to accommodate bikers or others who have very specific ideas about the look and feel of their clothing. In the autumn, Sunshine carries a selection of furs (mink, sable, fox, you name it). And the glass cases around the edges of the shop are stocked with everything from candles to jewelry to watches to wigs to smoking paraphernalia: all the accessories you need to accompany that great leather look.
