Tommys is a mixture of the good and the bad. Their milkshakes are fantastic and there are quite a few items on their menu that are worth trying no matter how strange they may seem. The service, however, can be really spotty. I've found much better service if I dine in yet when I get food to go, I've often found myself waiting for upwards of half an hour. The last time I was there, I left without my food out of pure frustration in trying to flag a girl down so I can eat. Back to the food...lots of it is delicious but often quite greasy and somewhat overpriced. This is not the place it used to be.

Pros: A few neat menu items, milkshakes

Cons: Terrible take-out service, greasy food

I have been here quite a few times. When I didn't live in Cleveland, I would go to Coventry and Tommy's to eat and thought it was pretty good. Once you get used to it though, and have been to Coventry enough, and have eaten at other places, it just isn't as good anymore. I will agree that the fries and milkshakes are very good. As far as vegetarian food goes, nearly everything they have is average at best. And, please go to Aladdin's if you're looking for hummus, baba, falafel, etc. Their mediterranean food is plain aweful.

Pros: Location. Good place to grab some food in between looking at records and toys. Milkshakes.

Cons: Below average vegetarian food.

Overall, a huge menu with lots of great choices. The milkshakes and fries are probably the best in Cleveland. Try adding the homemade peanut butter in one. There's a huge variety of meat pies and vegetarians pies. The falafel in some is flavored well, but sometimes a little overdone. The hummus is good, but I personally like one with more garlic and other spices in it. Give Tommy's a try, there's bound to be something on there that you'll like, and if the menu items don't fit what you want, they're the best with special orders. The only problem can be a significant wait, but the milkshakes alone are worth it.

Pros: Variety, Milkshakes, Huge Vegetarian menu if that's your thing

Cons: Waiting, Better hummus is not too far away (Aladdin's, Mad Greek, Falafel Cafe)

I second that review. The milkshakes are out of this world. I am a big fan of the salads and sandwiches too. They have one with peanut butter and cheese and veggies, I know if sounds weird, but seriously it's delicious. The only downside is that there is a long wait at meal times because it's so popular. If you plan ahead, you can just sign-in and then shop at Big Fun or Macs Backs Books until your table is ready.

Pros: Great food, fun relaxed atmosphere

Cons: Wait in line

I lived in the Cleveland area for a good amount of time, and Tommy's remains strong as one of my favorite restaurants in the whole city!!! Their vege burgers are to die for and the salads are always fresh and perfect...and of course well-named. The Haley is perfect!!! The milkshakes are hands down the best in ANY city.

Pros: Great food, "Holistic" Place

Cons: Wait large at times

I have been to Tommy's a few times. I like the food. They have a diverse menu, which includes a wide variety of salads that always seem to be very fresh. The service, however, is unpredictable. I had a good waitress once. Every other time, the service was slow and rude.

Pros: Fresh, Tasty

...and i do stop in for a milkshake in the summers, but yuck. it's a shame, since it's a neighborhood staple, that servers are allowed to mumble or be rude, and that the food (which tastes okay going down) should make me sick. literally, every time i eat there, i don't feel well (i think it's the grill grease). it's sad, because it's a pleasant place inside, convenient and clean. lots of people love it but...buyer beware.

Pros: clean, cute inside, GREAT milkshakes

Cons: greasy food, weird menu, poor service

Fun, friendly establishment with great vegetarian and non vegetarian fare. Very inexpensive and very fun menu to read. Great for kids and fun groups. Usually a wait for weekend breakfasts but lots of fun stuff to watch on the street while you wait...Coventry is a cool area of the East side.

Pros: inexpensive, vegetarian, fun

Cons: cold in non-smoking, parking, crowded

I have been to many restaurants, but nome mach Tommy's quality. The food tastes great and is inexpensive. Their is a parking garage across the steet with meter parking which isn't a big deal. I recommend Tommy's to anyone. Also if you decide to go try the lemonade because its one of the best I have had.

Pros: inexpensive, good food, casual enviornment

Cons: crowded, worth thewait, needs more spicy food
