Terrific used book outlet in the heart of the Coventry Road shopping district in Cleveland Heights. Very pleasant staff, and an excellent selection of used items as well as a few brand-new books on local topics and by local authors. The stock turns over pretty quickly. You can sell some of your old books for store credit or trade them for books on the shelves. Highly recommended especially because the store has a direct archway so that you can walk through to Tommys restaurant.
A must for both bibliophiles and starving students who don't want to pay a lot for their Henry James.

Mac's Backs features three floors of about 50,000 used and new books, with the top level devoted entirely to science-fiction, fantasy and horror. In addition, the management keeps the place stocked with the latest small-press sensations, reprints, zines and chapbooks.
More Than Books
Mac's also hosts author visits, readings and poetry slams. The savvy staff can order just about anything in print, but that's not why people patronize Mac's Backs. They come to find out what's just washed up on the shelves, a fascinating and fluctuating inventory that's the result of the store's popular trade-in policy on used (and rare) literature.
The History
"Mac" is founder and co-owner James McSherry. While a law student in the early 1980s, he opened the original Mac's Backs Paperback exchange, a tiny nook of a store in Chagrin Falls.
