It's great! Soups, Salads, Steaks, Seafood,, Jewish delicasies, can't beat 1.00 yep, just one dollar knishes! Comfortable atmosphere, kid friendly, Always great service to me. Cashier checkout is quick. Clean Restroom, Food portions are extra large, Pickels taste better since they are at room temp. Trust my judgement, I'm a Nurse! I'm never disappointed, just Full!

An Institution! Great Corned Beef Sandwiches! Matzo Ball Soup to make you Cry!

by Amy144

I go to Cleveland to visit relatives...and whenever I go there is only one request I have -- go to Corky & Lenny's -- it is usually the first and last stop I make after getting off the airplane - Also when visiting it is usually the "meeting place" for the family. 3 things I recommend: Corned Beef on Potato Latkes (Sandwich Style), 3 Little Tootsies - 3 Mini Challah Rolls filled 1 with Chopped Liver, 1 with Corned Beef, 1 with Pastrami - (satisfies your need for all jewish deli specialites!) and Mish Mosh Soup - chicken soup with a Matzo Ball, Noodles and spaetzle. Either way just their Matzo Ball soup is great. My Aunt always orders Lox, Onions & Eggs. They do have fantastic pickles but no longer leave them out on the table - all you need to do though is request them or depending on the server they'll just drop them off. I had the most friendly and courteous server Friday afternoon for lunch that I have had in a long time at any restaurant. Sunday for brunch we had a very nice yet more of the "typical" deli waitress who was quite a character....Also I always order a Chocolate Phosphate (a carbonated chocolate drink, almost like chocolate soda) in honor of my dad who went there over 50 years ago...This is really an iconic Jewish Deli in my opinion. Unless you live in New York this is the best deli around. (I've searched many cities and haven't found one comporable besides NYC.) It is a true institution. I will say during peak times it does tend to get a little noisy so if you want a bit less chaos go during off peak hours.....Oh and I was thrilled to find out they ship :-) !!!!!

  • Pros: Authentic Jewish Deli Food also offerings on the lighter side.
  • Cons: Oy Vay! - last time I was there they needed a little more salt and onions in the chopped liver..... Can be busy and loud

very disappointed

by semi_sweet

We were seated immediately, but it took our server at least 10 minutes to notice us. The pickles on the table were warm, like they had been sitting out all day or maybe all week (a good deli would bring you nice cold pickles!). The food took a long time, and when it did arrive the meat on my sandwich was cold. I didn't have a chance to ask the server about it since she didn't come back for at least 15 more minutes. In addition, the food is extremely overpriced, costing about twice as much as what you'd expect.

The only good thing I can say is that my friend enjoyed his reuben. But I didn't enjoy how much he had to pay for it.

  • Pros: good reubens
  • Cons: , food is awful, extremely overpriced

Disappointing!

by jlolexa

We go there often for carry-out. Every single time we order the large Matzoball soup w/noodles (for example), it comes without noodless or without the 2nd matzoball. They're not friendly, especially when you point out their errors. God knows they charge you a lot, but you don't get you monies worth. I will have a better chance at getting what I order from Jack's Deli!

Corky & Lenny's

by diamondgirl75052

Corky & Lenny's Deli has been a landmark in the suburban Cleveland area since I was a child in the 50's. Even after it moved from the Cedar-Center area to Chagrin Blvd it has kept its ambiance (including the "antique" waitstaff they employ) and the quality of the food has not faultered.

I moved from Cleveland in the 70's but whenever I come back to visit my parents, still living in Beachwood, we have to have lunch at "Corky's"!

  • Pros:  good parking, great food, good location

You'll be farklempt with this huge menu!

The newly redecorated Corky's has a more modern feel than before. In the big, open atrium, the smells and sights of the deli and the house bakery portend good things. Warm colors, sufficient lighting, many booths, and schmoozy lines of sight between the tables lend the dining room a breezy openness. It is nearly impossible to begin speaking about the traditional and comprehensive menu. For starters, the tunafish was subtle, the chicken soup had plenty of chathckes available and the potato knish was tuberriffic. Our New Yorker was amazing- with slaw, Thousand Island dressing and the softest pinkest corned beef imaginable. Our calorie-conscious diners liked the crunchy toast of the Challa Grill, and went nuts for the homemade Turkey Burger with grilled onions. For dessert, Corky's bakery certainly pleases: from the chocolate or cinnamon Rugelach (without which coffee seems pointless)to the diet-busting chocolate chip cheesecake topped with a quarter inch shingle of fudge frosting. Diners at 'Corky's' consist of mostly family-types from the surrounding East Side suburbs. Don't hesitate to ask the experienced wait-staff for help. They are happy to help you navigate the menu and provide those little insider tips that make all the difference. For instance, when ordering our 'Clevelander' sandwich, we learned to ask for succulent 'turkey-off-the-bone'

mmmm... Corky's

by mwalcoff

When I'm living out of town, Corky's is what I miss most about Cleveland. If I get convicted of a capital crime, I want my last meal to be a Corky's lean corned beef sandwich on rye toast, or maybe potato pancakes. I recommend going on Friday, when potato soup is available. Corky's has about a million items on their menu, and they're just about all delicious. Try a meat knish (thin crust filled with liver). If you're not into old-time Eastern European Jewish cuisine, Corky's hamburgers are supposed to be great.

  • Pros: selection, food quality, atmosphere
  • Cons: prices, crowding
